The Three M&C medical centre based in Tamale,Ghana organized a free screening for the Barclays Bank workers here in tamale. I was happy to be part of the team as the MD. ! We screened for very common health issues that are neglected always by many and did free consultations. A little advice here and there could be life saving. Let that sink in well.
The world is full of busy schedules that may not allow us to have a chance at regular check up. But if you love health and appreciate life as I do, you will deem it important to always go out of your way for medical checkups. Some chronic conditions like hypertension and diabetes are very deadly yet very insidious and subtle in nature. You may be dying but nothing on the outside shows it. Pain is the number one reason why people will visit a doctor, atleast in my part of the world, but some of these deadly chronic conditions have nothing at all to show for.
Screening for these would not cost much but complications can be very devastating and costly. Countries spend over millions of dollars each year to manage complications of some of these chronic conditions which could have been managed safely had they been detected early enough.
It will be to our own benefit just to take some time of and get checked before disease do that for us. In which case the results will be very undesirable because you may endup spending more of your precious in the sick bed rather than on the checkup chair or couch
