🍷🍶🍇🍾🥂Mommy's Little Helpers - Part Two: These are a few of my favourite things! 🍷🍶🍇🍾🥂

Thank you so much @joetunex for inspiring me to revive this series! I don't know why I started, and then just never got back to it. I suppose I may have been too busy enjoying wine to post about it! Teehee. There are so many, so I'll start with wine that comes in a box for this installment!

Now before you turn your nose up, hear me out. With the outbreak of Covid in 2020, South African wine farms were forced to shut down and were unable to trade for almost half a year. This meant that they had to do some really innovative thinking. Some really premium wines started coming out in boxes after the ban was lifted - like the Pierre Jordan from Haute Carbierre! I never thought I'd ever see this one in a box. When we're having a big gathering or I have big jobs to do in the kitchen (Like making cakes or special roasts) it's a good idea to have one on hand. Besides, then you don't have to count your glasses!

  1. Pierre Jourdan Tranquille ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is a delightful blend of chardonnay and pinot noir. The skins of the Pinot Noir grapes give this beautifully smooth and very drinkable wine a gorgeous but very subtle pink glow. Pierre Jordan wines are made by Hauté Cabrierre, which is one of my favorite wine farms - possibly THE favorite - nestled in the valley of Franschhoek.

  2. Du Toit's Kloof Pinotage Rose ⭐⭐⭐⭐

This fruity refreshing wine is perfect for summer days, BBQs or South African Braais! It has a surprising kick though, so watch out! For a dry Rose, the sugar content is relatively high (even though you can't taste it) which means you'll be on your ear if you get carried away.

  1. Tangled Tree Chocolate Cabernet Sauvignon ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This amazingly smooth Cabernet is fullbodied and velvety! It went really well with this chocolate! hahahaha! I suspect it would also go well with Reese's Peanut Buttercups

Tangled Tree Butterscotch Chardonnay ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This rich, caramel-coloured chardonnay is a perfect partner with most cheeses. Here, I served it with my famous avo and cream cheese dip, but it also goes really well with a creamy blue cheese.

Cheers to you guys! See you next time!
