Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo

This is among my favorite pasta dishes. Actually I prefer shrimp, but fettuccine alfredo is so good. It certainly isn't the healthiest pasta, but I like eating it every now and then. I think any food is alright consumed in moderation. Heavy cream and butter isn't too good for your heart and circulatory system, but once in a while won't hurt.

Pasta is healthy unless you're on a low carb diet. I have hyperthyroidism which speeds up my metabolism, so I can eat a lot. We all know chicken is a good source of protein. Parsley has many health benefits and is good for your skin, helps prevent kidney stones, and is antibacterial which helps with bad breath.

INGREDIENTS

4 ounces boneless, skinless chicken breast (I used tenders in this video. Easiest way.)

4 ounces of fettuccine

3 tablespoons of unsalted butter

1/2 cup of heavy cream

1/4 cup of freshly grated parmesan cheese

A small handful of fresh flat leaf Italian parsley

Salt
Pepper
Garlic powder (optional)

DIRECTIONS

Boil the fettuccine in salt water according to the directions on the package.
Season the chicken with salt and pepper, Garlic powder is optional.
Cube the chicken breasts.
Saute the chicken in butter.
Put chicken aside once fully cooked.
Drain the cooked pasta.
Melt butter.
Over low heat, add the heavy cream.
Add the parmesan cheese.
Stir well.
Add the chicken back to the saute pan.
Add the cooked fettuccine.
Stir well until sauce thickens.
Chop parsley leaves.
Garnish the parsley on top and season how you please.
ENJOY!
