Whole Mind Cooking: Bolognese Sauce with Grass-Fed Beef

Ingredients:

1 diced onion
2 cloves minced garlic
1 tablespoon Italian herbs
olive oil
1 cup chopped carrots
1 1/3 pounds grass-fed minced beef
28 oz container of crushed tomatoes
4 heaped tablespoons of tomato paste
1/2 tablespoon Italian herbs
2 teaspoons of basil
red wine
salt
pepper

  1. Over medium-low heat sauté diced onion with minced garlic, Italian herbs and olive oil until onions are translucent

  2. Add chopped carrots and sauté for 5 minutes

  3. Add grass-fed minced beef (try find beef mixed with organ meat for healthiest option) and cook until light brown

  4. Add in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, Italian herbs, basil, red wine and salt and pepper to taste

  5. Cook for two hours on low heat

Serve with pasta of choice or in a lasagna
