Hello, everybody!

Today I want to show you a delicious recipe: the famous Venezuelan tequeños. They are very easy to make and with very few ingredients, and they are ideal for snacks, as entrées, for lunch boxes of our small and ideal hors d'œuvre for parties and celebrations.

Ingredients:
-300 grams of wheat flour
-2 tablespoons of butter
-1 egg
-White cheese
-1 small teaspoon of salt
-2 tablespoons of sugar (if you want)
-Warm water.


Preparation

Step 1: To begin to prepare the dough of the Tequeños we must place the wheat flour in the shape of a volcano, on a clean and flat surface.

Then we add the egg in the middle, put the butter and the sugar and salt, and start to integrate all the ingredients with the hands, kneading, trying to unite all the ingredients and we begin to add the warm water slowly.

The water is used to make up the dough, so the amount of warm water to be used depends on the consistency of the dough.

I particularly like to add the sugar because you give the dough a sweet treat which, combined with the saltiness of the cheese, is delicious, but if you don't want it, you don't need to add it.


Step 2: After all the ingredients are compacted, it is kneaded until the dough is easily removed from the fingers and the surface on which it is being kneaded and is left to rest for 30 min.

Step 3: After 30 minutes we cut cheese sticks, in this case we use Venezuelan Llanero Cheese, which is a hard cheese with a delicious touch of salt, which melts with the heat, but if you are not in Venezuela you can do it with Mozzarella cheese and even with yellow cheese sticks.

Step 4: Now we begin to assemble the tequeños, we proceed to stretch the dough with a roller and cut into thin strips, we take the cheese stick and wrap them with the dough from end to end, one by one.

Step 5: For cooking, place a frying pan on medium heat, with a generous amount of vegetable oil, place the tequeños and with the help of tweezers, turn them until they are golden brown, remove them from the frying pan and let them rest... and voilà!.
