These are the 10 best food blogs in the world

Gone are the days when the grandmother's recipe book was a family heirloom that passed from hand to hand. Today the digital world gets into the kitchen to democratize culinary information.

The prestigious magazine The Saveur published a list of the ten best food blogs. These are the chosen ones:

  1. Best cooking blog: Lottie + Doof
Lottie + Doof was created in 2008 by the American artist Tim Mazurek who, after a period of obsession with cooking, was encouraged to publish his experiences with pots. On his site he posts his own recipes and some easy-to-follow adaptations, accompanied by tantalizing photos he takes himself.

  2. Best blog of sweet and salty recipes: Butter Me Up Brooklyn
This is the culinary binnacle of Lillie, a thirty-year-old bachelor who loves cooking and says she loves "all things made with lard, drinking bourbon and wearing leggings all day long." From his blog "Butter Me Up Brooklyn", he shoots preparations of salty and sweet dishes framed in small anecdotes and personal impressions. More than recipes, stories.

  3. Best food photography: Gastrophotomy
Gastrophoptomy, a long word of dubious existence in which two arts are combined: photography and cooking. Manny Rodríguez, a 53-year-old Cuban, portrays dishes as if they were warm, luminous, natural landscapes that convey a moment. Since he opened his blog in 2010, he receives online orders to illustrate recipes and in two years he has managed to stand out in an increasingly popular category: gastronomic photography.

  4. Best wine and beer blog: PeteDrink
Pete took by last name Drink to write from the anonymity reviews of all types of bottles: from craft beers to expensive whiskeys. Although the design of the platform is quite rustic, it has good info to share.

  5. Best Coktails Blog: This Girl Walks Into a Bar
Jordan and Jocelyn are the two sisters who wrote the book "This girl walks into a bar", a cocktail guide for aspiring bartenders or anyone who wants to learn how to make drinks at home. The success of the book led them to create a homologous blog from where they continue to spread recipes of cocktails, news, ideas to decorate them and everything that interests the fans of the bars.

  6. Best culinary travel blog: Istanbul Eats
Istanbul Eats is a brilliant collection of information and gastronomic advice on the most famous city in Turkey, from street vendors selling Arabic bread to fusion cuisine in an old Ottoman-era mansion. Corners that would not be so easy to find on their own.

  7. Best regional food blog (Thai food): She Simmers
In SheSimmers - or "She simmers" -, Leela tells about her approach to Thai food in the third person. Interested in the history of this country of Southeast Asia, we propose to know its cuisine through beautiful photos and easy to prepare dishes with ingredients that you can find in any market in the world.

  8. Best piece of culinary writing: Café Fernando: My experience Chez Panisse
Cenk is a full time blogger who started with his gastronomic chronicles through Café Fernando, named as the best culinary travel blog in 2011 by The Saveur. Reinstalled in his native country, Turkey, today he writes in English the second part "Café Fernando: My experience Chez Panisse", and is again awarded by the magazine.

  9. Best food blog with humor: Bon Appétempt
From Bon Appétempt, Amelia Morris shares her unsuccessful culinary attempts through neat images photographed by her husband's Canon 7D. This blog with an original name, plays with a loving and self-critical tone, but among the jokes you can see a beautiful prose and recipes that make you want to try.

  10. Best blog of special diets: Nom Nom paleo
The Paleolithic Diet, or Caveman Diet, is based on the consumption of wild plants and different types of animals. This controversial nutritional plan has more and more followers and Internet sites that disseminate what it is. One of them is Nom Nom Paleo, awarded by The Saveur this year, where the author publishes recipes, tells history and offers resources to follow a Paleo diet.
