Eat Everything: BBQ, Seafood & Beer (Vietnam)

From Korean BBQ to grilled octopus, crab and copious amounts of beer, it was another food junky binge across the board. Let me take you through some of the mouthwatering dishes we got our grubby little hands on last night. We started with the grilled octpus seen in the photo below. This is by far my favourite seafood of all time. Its does not contain that typical intense, salty fish-dominated aroma and taste, as many other seafood dishes do.

BBQ octopus has a texture more like light chicken. It has a plesant chewiness while still maintaining a tender touch too. It was bursting with flavour, and to be honest I have no idea what they marinate it with. Whatever it is, I would straight up drink it out of a cup. Its that good.

When you eat street food, its pretty normal to just see mounds of seafood on display, packed with ice, sitting anywhere someone can cram it in. It's chaotic but beautifully executed. Have a look, pick it up, give it a whiff to make sure it's fresh and let them do the rest.

The crab seemed like our best bet so we opted for that next.

We got 2 whole crabs for about $5 USD. Pretty good deal huh? That would cost a small fortune back home but not here in Vietnam. Fresh crabs are a dime a dozen and available nearly all across the country. (Keep in mind some are fresh water crabs).

And that was the end of round one. Now, off to meet some friends for some Korean BBQ and more beer in district 4.

And, of course, as we wait at the next stop, more more more beer with partner in crime @Phanthiphan. Fellow steemians @inseasia and @hanzkiboy were on their way to join our last leg of munchin down.

Check out the video for some sizzle action on our Korean BBQ.
