We should add variety of foods in our diet because they have bio-active components in them that help in preventing many diseases and provide other health benefits.

Health Benefits of Oranges

Orange provides following health benefits with their great taste:

Cholesterol

Oranges have high levels of ascorbic acid and fiber. These chemicals can prevent the oxidation of cholesterol, which is the way plaque builds up, leading to atherosclerosis and heart attack, and an increased risk of injury stroke and coronary heart disease.

Viral Infections

It is known that eating oranges can activate the immune system, and many studies have focused on the specific antiviral and antibiotic properties of volatile acids in oranges.

Chronic Disease

Polyphenols, flavonoids, and other antioxidants help eliminate chronic inflammation and reduce the effects of free radicals, which can lead to various chronic diseases.
