Our Family Mastermind in Joshua Tree, California

Have you ever gone on a mastermind family retreat? We did at the end of January and it’s definitely going to become a family tradition. Apologies in advance – this post is picture heavy 😊 All pics in this post were taken by us.

Our first family mastermind was in Joshua Tree, California. Derek and I have visited the national park a few times but hadn’t been in almost 10 years so we were excited for the trip. Although it was well into 2018, this was our first opportunity to talk through how we plan to turn our goals into reality for the new year. My brother was also visiting from Canada so I knew we were going to have fun.

We stayed in an Airbnb home – Joe’s Retreat. Ummm, can you say beautiful? This was our first experience using the service. We were pleased with both Airbnb and our accommodations. Joe’s Retreat was just as pictured on the site and extremely clean with quick onsite support.

We stayed three days and two nights. Who knew that a local getaway could be so invigorating! Shalom thoroughly enjoyed watching rabbits, coyotes and other wildlife from the large windows in the home. Zara handled the change in environment well. While the weather was crisp during the day and legit cold at night, I was happy that we went in winter. The summer heat would be killer. We had a lot planned for our time so we didn’t actually make it to the national park but our location and surroundings made up for it.

The other reason we went was to take updated family pictures. Between Derek and my brother, we got some really great pics.

I'm already looking forward to our mid-year regroup...wonder where we'll go this time...

What is a getaway – local or otherwise – that refreshes your soul?
