Hey my lovely Community...today I'm doing something I've been waiting for a very long time. My friend has recently cut down a very large apple tree on our garden plot and because I just love to grind stones and wood, to saw and generally to edit, I have seen my chance for a new decoration - project.

Hey meine lieben...heute mache ich etwas auf das ich schon sehr lange warte. Mein Freund hat vor kurzem einen sehr großen Apfelbaum auf unserem Gartengrundstück gefällt und weil ich es einfach liebe Steine und Holz zu schleifen, zu sägen und generell zu bearbeiten, habe ich meine Chance auf ein neues Deko - Projekt gesehen.

In einem weiteren Post werde ich euch bald meine Hüte vorstellen,die ich in letzter Zeit entworfen habe und diese haben schon seit längerem auf einen festen Platz in meiner Wohnung gewartet. Diesen konnte ich jetzt endlich in Anfgriff nehmen :)
First, I put aside some of the best branches and have chosen after much thought the best :D
Then I removed all the rough stumps and pieces of bark and sanded the entire branch with coarse 80 sandpaper.
It can always be that woodworms have attacked the branch...so I have with a roll of cling film and a mixture of 70% isopropanol and 30% disinfectant the branch always a piece wrapped and soaked in my mixture, then you have to let the branch rest for 3 days (Optimal it is if as with me at the time Minusgrade). This kills the woodworm larvae reliably.
Als erstes habe ich mir einige der besten äste bei Seite gelegt und habe nach langem überlegen den besten ausgesucht :D
Dann habe ich alle groben stumpen und Rindenstücke entfernt und mit groben 80er Schleifpapier den kompletten Ast abgeschliffen.
Es kann immer sein, dass Holzwürmer den Ast befallen haben...also habe ich mit einer Rolle Frischhaltefolie und einem Gemisch aus 70% Isopropanol und 30% Desinfektionsmittel den Ast immer ein Stück eingewckelt und in meinem Gemisch getränkt, danach muss man den Ast 3 Tage ruhen lassen (Optimal ist es, wenn wie bei mir zu dem Zeitpunkt Minusgrade herschen). Das tötet die Holzwurmlarven zuverlässig ab.
Once you have unwound the branch and it has steamed off (because the alcohol solution smells very strong) you can start sanding the branch as fine as you like. I went up to 150 on my project. Then I started to drill and screw in my extra long screws (Alternatively, of course, nails are also possible)
Sobald man den Ast ausgewickelt hat und er abgedampft ist (weil die Alkohollösung sehr stark riecht) kann man beginnen den Ast so fein abzuschleifen wie man möchte. Ich bin bei meinem Projekt bis 150 gegangen. Dann habe ich angefangen zu Bohren und meine extra langen Schrauben einzuschrauben (Alternativ sind natürlich auch Nägel möglich)
