I almost missed it and was pretty shaky with the camera. There are BIG waves from the south all over California now. I wasn't feeling up to it so I just went to the closest easiest place...

Sometimes this happens in winter but not often if it all in in summer type swells

Backwash at Northside on a windy afternoon is not something anybody shoots. I might be the only person ever to look for this and shoot it. I'm not saying people with their phones were not taking photos
