#ProjectPiratePistol : Finished!!!!!
The pistol is finally finished! The last bits were easier than I anticipated, so done early. 7 days start to finish. Not too shabby. Here's a short video of the finished product:

The inlay is finished, and I love it: It looks nice and authentically "pirate". I had considered a little more detail around the eye patch, but really I just love it how it is so decided to restain

After playing with the placement a bit, and coming to terms with the limitations on detail, I set into carving and filling the inlay. The eventual outcome will be a Jolly Roger, but for now I'm focused

#PiratePistolProject : First round of finishing work
After some sanding and a little more trimming to make things fit nicely, I decided on a nice dark walnut stain. Two reasons really. High contrast with the brass fittings (and eventual mother of pearl inlay)

So we took the pistol out to the range today to test fire it. 15 rounds later, we wish we would have gotten there earlie, because we were having a blast. Super fun to shoot, even if it still needs sighting
