This Energetic Norwegian Rock song is about: Svalbard Global Seed Vault

Let's figure it out!

Welcome to my livestream! I hope you will enjoy it!

I discuss recent findings that are troubling. The permafrost is being affected more so than previously thought with the potential for more thawing deeper down. This of course has the potential to release

I discuss in this video, the impacts the thawing permafrost has on people and communities who live in these regions. The boreal forest ecosystem is the most widespread LAND ecosystem and there are many

I share the latest understanding of microbial action in permafrost as it relates to decaying organic matter, CO2, CH4.

I discuss what thermokarst lakes are, how they are a potentially large source of methane that could impact climate change/global warming.

Scientists have worried for years now that climate change will free carbon trapped in frozen soil in the Arctic, triggering faster climate change — but now they believe abrupt thawing below lakes is even

I describe what permafrost is, the different types of permafrost.

I talk about permafrost and the ramifications of its thawing.

In the remote town of Longyearbyen, in Norway’s Arctic region, the ground is permanently frozen. As temperatures rise, the thawing permafrost could open a Pandora's box, with unpredictable consequences.

I thought it might be interesting to share a couple of the things that we encounter because of living in a place that gets so cold in the winter that the ground freezes deep down. Here is a quote from

I discuss new research findings from the polar world and the impact on climate.

I discuss several stories from the realm of science.

American Geophysical Union Summary: Researchers have discovered permafrost in the northern hemisphere stores massive amounts of natural mercury, a finding with significant implications for human health

No seeds were lost, but the access to the location can be affected by the changing climate. By: David Lumb @Outonalumb The Svalbard Global Seed Vault was designed to be a repository should the worst happen
