Let's do some updates! Starting with posts from winter. Oldest ones first. There was a post on Sprouting Lentils, remember? On the left is the where the stem meets the soil. On the right, there is the

This was an unpleasant surprise. And I checked it over and over again - same result - Poison. Over winter, I had something sprout, as the title says, and I left it alone to be transplanted. Nice shiny

Well, this post may not really contain much green in it since most of it is purple. Some of the shades of green on the larger leaves are pretty cool though. What you see in the photo is about the size

Hello everyone! I would like to share a story about our garden and why it is very important to our family. Backyard gardening is important because whenever there is no other source of food, we can always

So this is what we are going to accomplish today. Some of the larger Drosera plants are growing well above the rim of their pots. I will be doing a step by step on how to repot these bad boys. This one

Notice the stem that comes out purple and turns green at the base of the plant. That stem is the subject of this post. Venus flytraps are known for putting up flowers that extend really far away, and usually

Plants that usually flop, like chives, peppers or tomatoes, are best planted from the bottom of the pot. That leaves the top side available for any other kind of plant that never needs to be tied up on

Today I am going to take pictures of all the different carnivorous plants that have flowers open. There are many more that have only buds, but I'm going to concentrate on the ones that have flowers. This

I doubled the size of the pot that I was using for the first potato tower but besides that, I didn't like the way it lost soil volume as it got taller and taller. So I think I'm going to use solid walls

Let's do some updates! Starting with posts from August. Oldest ones first. There was a post on Potting Baby Carnivorous plants done Aug. 13, 2025. On the left is the photo from that post. On the right,

You wouldn't believe what I just found in the middle of the road. This is a tree, of sorts, that I have wanted in my garden for quite some time. I am not going to tell you what it is yet, but you can guess

We are going to do Drosera maintenance today. This is important to do because the plant starts to grow up and out of the moss that it's situated in. If I don't take care of this, the plant is more vulnerable

Well first of all, you don't need to tie up the plants. I have been trying to sprout jalapeno seeds for 2 months. Four have sprouted so far, and two have lived. Here's a photo of the one that's most far

Today we're going to finish the last step and set the roots free for the Venus flytrap. It has only been a little over a week since we repotted this Venus. We left the tiny pot under it but cut out the
