I been awfully busy this last week
We are in the process of trying to get all packed up so we can get moved. Once we get moved I should have new recipes daily to share on here. In the mean time I am going to give step by step instructions on how to make sausage gravy. Sausage Gravy is a simple thing to make once you have it down. Sadly some people do the steps out of order and they get a lumpy mess that isn't really gravy....
1 lb of sausage
3-4 tablespoons of flour
1 cup of milk
water
Salt and pepper to taste.
Brown your sausage over medium heat. In this photo I only used 1/2 pound of sausage because I wasn't feeding more than 4 people. Even if you use less sausage the rest of the recipe is the same.
Once it is brown add your flour till all the grease is absorbed. This step is important you want all the grease absorbed. Sometimes it can take a little more flour. It should look a little like this once you add the flour and soak up the grease.
Use a fork and add your milk stirring as your pour , you will notice it starting to thicken up.
As it thickens up slowly add water till you have the amount of gravy you need for your meal. Continue stirring till you have the thickness you want.
Great over open faced buttermilk biscuits. Here is a screenshot of the recipe I use.
