Chatri IPA - Full Moon Brewworks

Chatri IPA is a 5.2% Session IPA brewed by Full Moon Brewworks in Phuket, Thailand. I tried the Chatri IPA during the annual @steemfest #beersaturday beer crawl hosted by the one and only @detlev. I arrived early to the venue with @detlev which gave us some time to sit down and enjoy a few pints. It was nice to try a local IPA brewed at a micro-brewery in Phuket. Chatri is an easy-drinking tropical IPA, it blends Pilsner malt, Rye malt and Galaxy hops to make a full bodied, flavorful beer with a low ABV.

The Bottle

The Chatri IPA was served in a 330mL glass bottle. The label featured a man with a Koala's head, doing a strange pose with some hops nearby. It's a funky label for sure. I was just happy to find an actual IPA in Thailand after drinking nothing but SangSom, Chang and Singha all week.

The Beer

Chatri IPA was a solid IPA from Thailand. I poured the beer into a glass and admired its frothy head of foam. It was a relatively dark orange color, which was nice to see after drinking nothing but the watered down lagers all week. It had a floral aroma with a bitter, hoppy taste. The bite from the rye gives it a full bodied flavor which is nice to have in a session IPA with a low alcohol content. Overall it was a good beer.
