FIRST AID FRIDAY (SPRAIN)

Hello air clinicians and steemians 🤓 It is First Aid Friday,Where we learn quick steps to saving lives before they are referred to a health expert.
We talked about Bruises last week and we are going to be talking about sprain this week.
There's a lot of great things happening on @air-clinic and I would be sharing them with you but first,let's go to the business of the day

What is sprain

A sprain is the tearing of one or more ligament that hold bones at a joint causing abnormal stretching of the ligaments.

A sprain could usually be mild, moderate or severe. In severe cases the joint might be damaged.

Causes of sprain

1.Twisting of joints

2. Falling from heights

3.Over stretching of the limbs during exercise

Symptoms of a sprain

√Pain

√Redding of affected area

FIRST AID

1.Rest sprained Area

2. Apply cold compress for 20 minutes

3. Support injured part with an elastic bandage

4. Raise injured part.

5. If strain pain doesn't improve after 3days,Seek medical attention from a health expert and avoid self medication.
