These habits I mentioned above have grown part of me over the years. As I grow I have come to learn about equally important habits that I need to develop too. And what better way to do it than make it my New Year’s resolution. As the last ones worked out so well.

I don’t subscribe to this whole new world brouhaha of manifestation, “attracting positive things to yourself by saying and repeating positive statements”, “looking yourself in the mirror and repeating things to yourself to make yourself feel better about yourself”, even New Year’s resolutions.

But…
Few years ago in 2019 I made my first New Year’s resolution and it manifested! Yep, you read that right. It did take some work tho.
My 2019 resolution was to invest in myself; Only do things that’ll improve my self worth. It meant reading more(on personal development and anything I’m interested), taking courses, taking chances, attending seminars/conferences, and portraying myself the way I want people to see me; dignified.

I can’t quite remember what my resolutions for 2020 and 2021 were but I remember my 2022 resolution was “NO STRESS”.
NO STRESS meant I wasn’t going to worry about things I don’t have power over and I was going to focus on making money.
Also, I was going to open my heart to any good things that come my way. Well…

I knew exactly what I was saying and I was ready for the work. As I just mentioned, I did start reading more, pushed myself to attend the seminars and conferences (had to push myself because I wasn’t one so outgoing), changed the way I dressed, I even got a workout app on my phone and exercised everyday before I took my bath.

The year ended but most of these were habits that were now developed in me. Even though I wasn’t so religious with some of those as I could’ve been, they still remained a part of me till date.
Working out for example, I have a little obsession over it. Mine is not about going to the gym. I exercise in my room.
Reading too is one that stuck with me.
When it comes to attending seminars, I still like the idea alright, and also attend a few, but I’m not so excited about it like the rest. I have still not gotten fully used to “peopling”, if you know what I mean.

These are habits I have developed over the past years and I’m so thankful to God for guiding me take such a decision to work on improving myself as a person.

So today I hold a different opinion of “all that new world sh*t”. They do work, if you want it bad enough. Manifestation is a real thing, affirmation is real, and so on.

These habits I mentioned above have grown part of me over the years. As I grow I have come to learn about equally important habits that I need to develop too. And what better way to do it than make it my New Year’s resolution. As the last ones worked out so well.

So my resolution for the year 2023 is that;

  1. CREATE as much if not more than I CONSUME. Give to the world as much as I take from it. Many ways to give to the world; through a business; creating a product to solve a particular problem, writing helpful content, etc.
  2. Be punctual. Don’t be late.
  3. “You can’t kill yourself”. This is an expression that means “stop worrying about things you can’t control”.
  4. DO without thinking too much. It’s good to think before you act but don’t do it too much. You get in your own head.
  5. I’m intentionally choosing not to say this one 😂
  6. And this one. 😂

Most of these are as a result of the realization of how my actions affect the people I care about and who care about me also, and how some unconscious actions affect my personality and the impression people get of me which doesn’t reflect my true self. Going forward these “resolutions” today, will just be habits. And it will be worth every effort it takes.

So help me GOD.
