Yaaay! It's Three Tunes Tuesday. I had to set an alarm to remind me to make an entry this week. This is my first time participating. I've been seeing a lot of these posts especially on tengolotodo@tengolotodo's blog and I have always desired to participate but kept forgetting. For those of you who don't know what I am talking about, it is a fun initiative by ablaze@ablaze where you get to share three songs of your choice every Tuesday. Check out his blog for more information.

This week I will be talking about love songs. I am a sucker for love even though I've had my own fair share of heartbreak and disappointments. I will be sharing the duet versions of these songs. I love duets. As a backup singer in church, I find duets very charming. It's amazing how each part can be separate and independent yet harmonise to give one goose bumps effect.

SECRET LOVE BY LIT MIX FT JASON DERULO
The first song on my list is a song by Little mix titled "Secret Love" ft Jason Derulo. Little mix is a British all girls group and the members are Jade Thirlwall, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jessy Nelson, and Perrie Edwards. Secret love is a pop song produced by Syco records and Columba records recorded in 2015 and released in 2016.

I love this song because it is a song everyone can relate with. The lyrics are very emotional and tell of a secret love affair that cannot be made public. Derulo's version happens to be a real life story but I believe everyone has this sort of story to tell at some point in their lives. Listen to the song and find out which of the lines resonances with you. The voice blend is perfect and if you do not watch the video, you can very well argue that the song was sung by just two singers.

SAY SOMETHING BY GREAT BIG WORLD FT CHRISTINA AGUILERA

The next song is "say something" by A great big world featuring Christina Aguilera. A great big world is an American pop duo and this song was released in their debut album. Say something is a slow tempo song. If you aren't a lover of slow songs, you might find it boring but it consists of powerful lyrics and emotional composition, possibly the shortest lyrics I've ever seen. The song wasn't very popular until the duet with Christina that shot the song into limelight.

Say something is a song about heartbreak. A lover who wants to hold on but desperately needs an assurance of love from the partner to keep them together. You can listen to it and share your thoughts. It just might end up becoming your new caller's tune.

YOU ARE THE REASON BY CALUM SCOTT FT LEONA LEWIS.

The last song but not the least is a song I heard for the first time during the audition of the just concluded Nigerian Idol. There is just something about the song that makes me leave it on replay. It's the type of song you want to listen to over and over again at your quiet time. The song is "You are the reason" by Calum Scott released in 2017 by Capitol records. I relish the duet with Leona Lewis. "You are the reason" is a pop song with a slow tempo that tells the story of a relationship, a lover regrets ending and is ready to do anything to have the ex back.

While I was writing the songs, something came to my mind. The three songs tell a story. Two lovers who have a secret romance they wish they can make open, along the line, one got tired and wanted more but the other wouldn't say something and so he proceeded to end it and after ending it, was filled with regret and wanted her back.
