Ben likes competition. Why must everything be about competition even just saying I miss you? I just recently relocated to a new state after marriage and I'm trying so hard to fit in. Life here isn't as it was where I am coming from. All these while I've been at home eating and growing fat馃槣 but thank goodness, my transfer to the new state is finally through and I need to go report at the State Headquarters for a new posting and assignment.
This will require me travelling to the mainland of the State since we live on the Island. I told Ben he would miss me but he insisted he wouldn't miss me. We decided to have a bet on who will call first. Whoever calls first losses. Anyways, I have no plans of calling him. I don't even miss him. It's been 6 hours, 25 minutes and 10 seconds and he hasn't called but who is counting?
Anyways, still getting to know the city, I decided to go look for a saloon to make my hair. It was a great delight when I got there and found out that she paints nails too. My toenails needed some pedicure but I was going to manage just a toenail paint. I asked how much for the painting of the toenail and she said 200 naira. That's less than half a dollar. I was excited because this is what I usually make for a dollar where I came from. I relaxed and released my legs for her to make them beautiful.
Ladies and gentlemen, take a look at my toenails. I asked her to paint my nails and not pour red blood on it as if she was preparing it for some sacrifice. Tears and words failed me after I gazed upon my nails. There is no way I am paying her that money. She is insisting I must pay her that she did a good job. I'm saying no way, I asked you to paint my nails not pour colour on it. This isn't my book of colours, it's my legs.
I guess someone will need to come settle this matter because she wouldn't let me leave and I'm not paying any dime. And to think I almost asked her to fix my lashes. Who knows what she would have done with my lashes?
Good a thing this is a distraction. No time to think about Ben or miss him enough to be the first to call. After All it's only been 6 hours 28 minutes and 13 seconds but again, who is counting?
