Look at this powerful cartoon that speaks straight to every one of us living real life.
On the left side, you see a small, skinny guy. Eyes wide with fear, mouth screaming, both hands covering his head like “Please, no more!” Stones are raining down hard,big ones, small ones,hitting his shoulders, arms and legs.He looks totally broken, like the world is stoning him and he is about to collapse.
Now shift your eyes to the right side.Same guy,but he has changed completely! Now he is tall,muscles strong,chest out,legs planted like a real fighter.He is boldly holding up a huge, heavy shield with a big shining star in the centre.Stones are still flying at him from everywhere,but he blocks every single one. The shield takes all the hits while he walks forward with power, face calm and determined, ready for whatever comes next.
And right in the middle, the words that hit deep in the chest:

When life started throwing stones,one lost job, one heartbreak, one bill we couldn’t pay, one dream that fell apart,it felt like we were being stoned alive.We ran, we cried, we hid under our blankets.We were that scared guy on the left.
But look at us today! Many of us have turned into that strong warrior on the right. We have taken 10 stones,20,30,50 and yet kept standing.We faced failures,criticisms, sleepless nights, family pressure, and still woke up the next day.Every hard hit added muscle to our arms.Every painful stone made our shield thicker and stronger.Now bigger stones come; raising children,health struggles, chasing small dreams with empty pockets,but we don’t run anymore.Rather we lift our shield high and keep walking forward like champions.
This is the quiet power of the common man and woman.We don’t beg for easy roads.We simply grow strong enough to walk any road that comes.
