Hello, my beautiful people of Hive! I hope you are doing well.
Yesterday, Sunday October 16, was Teacher's Day, so I take this space to congratulate all the teachers who belong to the Hive Community and all those educators who teach with passion and above all love.
I will never forget some words I heard from a teacher, whose name I do not remember at the moment and with a couple of doctorates in education, who told me that a teacher can have all the masters and doctorates in the world, but if he/she does not teach with love, all those degrees will be useless. What do you think?
The thing is that to celebrate Teacher's Day, The King's Language Institute (the institute where I teach a few hours of classes) organized on Saturday the 15th a small Chilean-Venezuelan sharing to celebrate this date. It was also meant to get to know each other beyond the greetings in the hallways and talk about our experiences, which works like food for the soul and makes us more human.
Although only a few of us could attend, we enjoyed ourselves and ate a lot. The atmosphere made for a pleasant afternoon of good company and, above all, much empathy.
Two Venezuelan teachers, one from Caracas and the other from the Altos Mirandinos were in charge of the arepas and the cachapas, which I must say that the latter were brutal (Venezuelan slang for delicious) even though the corn from this side of the world does not resemble Venezuelan corn.
The grill and drinks were courtesy of the Institute.
Obviously, I brought the dessert which was a Charlotte cake. I will leave you the link to this easy, fast, and delicious dessert.
Finally, I want to say that after this get-together I felt revitalized and full of good vibes. It was a diverse space where we were neither Chileans nor Venezuelans, we were simply teachers and citizens of the world with dreams and goals to achieve.
