Recently been thinking... I've been doing a lot of pro-bono stuff on Steemit and just wondering would people actually pay actual market prices for designs/logos/banners/video production. Which would range from 150usd to 2000usd depending on what is required. Sometimes even higher. I know some of you will cringe and may even go along the lines of...'Heck! Fiverr only charges 5usd for designs'. I won't argue with that, let's save it for another day shall we?

I've been doing a lot of banners, videos, logos and such for a lot of Steemians, not that I don't enjoy doing them. In fact, I was the one who said I'll do them for free. Because, If I were to start charging market prices, I wouldn't be getting anything done till today. It's simple.

You can see it in today's art industry itself, we artist are still undervalued/underpaid

Isit because people think the work behind it is easy? Or just cause when the work produced is fast and quick, it means that it's simple. I can produce a simple logo in under an hour not because it's easy, it's because I have experience and the skills to make it happen. I hope I speak for some of the artists also. We didn't go to uni/courses for nothing :D

One of the most well-known 'cheap' logo that we all know is the 'swoosh' symbol of Nike. It was designed for 35usd back in 1971 and look how Iconic it became. I just wished Carolyn(The designer) would've been paid a sum of what Nike is worth today.

I started off in an advertising agency, and boy... did I learn a lot about how this industry works. Let's just say, it really isn't easy for the artists out there. I do understand those having to raise a family also. From where I come from(Malaysia), being an experienced animator of 5 years, I still get paid a salary of someone in another industry who has worked 2-3 years. It is tough out there.

So.... am wondering, how much are you willing to pay for your logo/designs/videos if you need one?

For me, a logo costs 150-250usd, a simple banner can cost around 30-80usd. And to see that many designs I've done on Steemit.... I would've made it to at least 1000SP, but I'm only half way there. So yea....

Take Note : I'm not against anyone, you guys are still amazing. I just hope that artists will get paid for their art more and also get the benefit of networking. Not either one.
