Hello everyone! I'm Zoe, it's my first time posting here thanks to . Since childhood I've always carried a diary and used to write my thoughts inside. Never had the courage to share it online until the day I've found Hive. So, here am I with my short story for the prompt, I hope you guys will like it.
Jules and Nate has been in a relationship for almost six years, their relationship once felt stable but lately something has changed between them. Jules started to notice how distant Nate had become. When she used to enter the bed room Nate used to hide his phone or move away the screen, it seemed suspicious as if he was doing something secretly.
Jules decided to check it by herself. That noon when Nate went to the bathroom, he had left his phone on the bed. Jules used this opportunity, quietly entered the room. She grabbed the phone, and was about to unlock it with her finger print but she noticed an error which says "No Access," even after that she kept trying with the passwords she knew but nothing worked.
She realized that Nate had locked his phone with a new security update. Then she decided to put down the phone as she was about to leave the room and suddenly the phone buzzed. It was a text from a lady named Cassie, she decided to read the text from notifications bar.
As soon as she saw the text *"I miss you bae ❤️, Let's meet again tonight," in a few seconds Nate came back and when he saw her holding the phone he got nervous, neither of them spoke.
She showed him the screen and asked, “What is this?”
Nate hesitated, then replied, “She's just a friend, if you want I won't talk to her again.” but Jules had already decided everything in her mind. After that incident, for next few days Jules ghosted Nate even though they lived in the same apartment. Nate tried to explain, but Jules kept her distance.
Nate felt guilty about his wrong doings so he decided to leave. He packed his luggage and sent one last text to Jules, he wrote I’m sorry. After that he left the apartment. As Nate was about to take his Uber, his phone buzzed again. It was from Jules, "You had No Access to me long before I checked your phone."
In the beginning he could not guess why she said something like that but then he noticed the messages he had sent before to her few months ago, they did not deliver and that's because she had already blocked him the day she first suspected something.
He realized she already knew everything long ago.
