An amazing story. Yes, I see that life wa not good to your family. And I am very glad that you have found your own way, I wish you to be success and confident, and most of all - to love and enjoy what you do. This is what will make you happy. Sooner or later, your father will see it too.

Sometimes it’s important not to look back and compare. Once at the end of the Christmas dinner, when the whole family was at the table, I talked about my friend and her son’s successes at school. I did not suspect how my daughter would take these ordinary words without subtext. She ran out of the room in tears ... I was shocked.
It turned out that she took my words about the success of someone else's child as a rebuke to herself. She was very upset that I don't say she does good in presence of other people, including our family. It turned out to be very important for her, for her self-confidence and self-evaluation.
From my side, I thought that there is no need for that as everyone already knows how good kid she is.
It was a lesson for me for all my life.

Thank you so much for your honesty, and have a wonderful day, dear modern-trojan@modern-trojan!
