STEEMIT THOUGHTS
I've been a bit reflective lately and pondering my presence on Steemit. I'm new to this platform and there are so many things I don't understand. It's hard for me to even consider investing my hard-earned USD into buying SBD because the corruption I see here relegates me to believe that this platform isn't sustainable.
I see all sorts of accounts fighting rewards pool abuse and raising Hell with spammers, but I don't see it stopping. It's like a giant game of whack-a-mole. You smack one spammer and ten more pop up. The money incentive (SBD) being waved at us is a complete joke.
Jerks are using bots to do last minute upvoting and rack up the rewards that are out there. I have zero faith in the dollar amounts that are shown below each of our articles and comments. I fail to believe that so much USD is being spent on Steem. Where do the SBD's come from? How can they divy up monetary compensation, if the real USD investment is weak?
I get Google Alerts every day from the same dozen outlets hyping up the Steem price for the day. I'm just one guy, but I think it's complete bullocks that these bastards get to create bots/scripts and just ravage the dough. I know that there's more to #steemit than money.

It's still frustrating to know that people writing amazing content are getting sent to the bottom of the pile because the bastards are running their games and flooding everyone's feed with the latest steem update. Multiple updates on a daily basis is ridiculous. This isn't the New York Stock Exchange. If I wanted to watch a crypto ticker, I'd tune into MSNBC or Bloomberg. Why are so many people writing about the stock price multiple times per day. What good does that do on this platform? We're already here! Shouldn't they be targeting other platforms to attract people to this space? I don't get it.
I've got a million ideas for articles, but it's hard to get excited about writing when some idiot on the Island of Yap can post a Shark Tank video and rake it in. (no offense to any Yapians).
So how are influencer.........errrrrr "repeat spammers" allowed to control the earnings, become whales and dictate how everything plays out on steemit? Is this truly the Wild, Wild West or is there some sort of system in place to combat this ridiculous behavior?
OTHER TIDBITS :
I'm super looking forward to the #SoCalSteemit meetup on 4/15 in Whittier, CA. I really wanted to go to the Las Vegas convention, but the costs prevent me from going this year. Whittier will be more my speed and I hope to meet people and learn more.
