I forgot I made a #WednesdayWalk title image for all those times I grab my camera and go on a walk like our friend @tattoodjay. Seeing as last time we took a stroll downtown at the end of winter in our little town, perhaps it was time to hit the trail.
The one who agreed most with my day's choice is this little feller. Is there a dog lover community on Hive? Birds, food, beer, and pretty much every other group here but I can't recall one dedicated to dogs! Either way, Happy McSprinterson here would probably live here if they served food.
After a couple days of snow, it warmed back up to the high teens in Celsius today and there is no trace of the white stuff. I take a picture from this spot every time I visit and hope to create a year-long gif of different phases of this part of the forest. Traces of colour returning!
Tiny little buds are popping up everywhere. They are still a little shy as there will most likely be more frosty nights before we are done.
These sad little fellas probably thought they were the smartest blooms in the forest before the snow started to fall. They may not make it but there will be more where they came from soon.
I make it a habit to pick up any plastic or litter I see on my walk. Though it is never-ending, so is my effort and it takes so little effort to be a part of the solution so why not? You probably won't see litter in any of my dog park pictures as people are very respectful for the most part.
I don't remember seeing this on any of my hundred walks here. Doesn't seem to be anything living in here yet. It may be one of the low-rent units as it is a silly animal who takes up residence right where all the dogs go off leash! I will check back as the spring progresses and hope it is not a skunk.
Bordering on the south side of the dog park is a factory that pumps out car parts. I normally don't look too close at this but there was a goose honking from somewhere and I couldn't see it in the air or on the ground.
Upon closer inspection, this picture might as well be bigfoot for the resolution but that hoser is calling from the roof. Was he trying to create a movement or did he find a nice rooftop pond he wanted to share? We may never know. I will ask him if he is still there tomorrow.
Despite being 24 hours removed from falling snow, the weather was mild and things were starting to look green. I very much look forward to wearing a t-shirt & shorts, smuggling in a beer, and sitting on the bench a while when summer hits. Winters are as great as any other season but summers are just that much better.
To cap off his...I mean my #wendesdaywalk, we have to patrol the yard back home for any intruders who may have invaded while we were wandering the forest. Every corner must be sniffed twice over and then he pokes his nose under the gate a while to make sure he knows what is going on in the hood.
G'night!
I am no @daveks but I do love to snap a sunset when I am paying attention. The sun has gone down on another hump day as #wednesdaywalk will turn into #toiletthursday or something equally as strange. Thanks for walking with me and my little dood.
BRING ON SPRING!
I am honoured to curate for:
Did you know some Hivers are settling into autumn?
