Time to pull out a new title shot in celebration of a 6 km canyon walk! This post is for Wednesday Walk challenge championed by our friend @tattoodjay and the Make me Smile Collaboration challenge lead by @elizacheng. The basic idea is going for a walk, taking pictures, sharing stories and making people smile.
This Weds, I am back from the mountains but have brought highlights from the Rocky Mountains in western Canada.
For those just joining us, I am back from a trip out west which was highlighted by a hike in Johnstone Canyon https://www.banfflakelouise.com/experiences/johnston-canyon It was a long fun day and I will use as few words as possible so the pictures can tall the story.
I can still taste the sweet cool mountain air when I look at this pic.
The whole path was well maintained and simple enough for most people to be able to hike.
Looking up to down in one picture by using the panoramic function vertically.
I would almost long to cannon ball into that clear pool except I know how cold that water is and how complicated that swim would be in shocking the temperature.
The river slows to a trickling brook at some points.
This is not a zoom or a crop. This bold little fellow came within a couple feet of my boots and posed nicely for a picture.
@daveks corners the market on epic vistas but maybe I can make the vertical pano shot a thing?
Ending off with the hazy shot I used for the title shot. A well-done accessible path seemingly doesn't even touch the pristine canyon stream through protected wilderness. It is these moments in these places that make for happiness I believe.
As a cherry on this sundae of a Wednesday walk, I celebrated a safe return with a beer in the parking lot I can think of at least 2 reasons @davedickeyyall would like.
