The title of this picture is "someone take a picture of my moron kids with their phones in the hammocks." It was resting time and they had a long night playing in the forest and sleeping among the trees.
Last night was all about comfy pants, campfires, pints and shooting the shit until the wee hours. Why do beers go down so well around the campfire?
I will admit I was moving a little slower this morning after too many of those. A little coffee, water and a campfire breakfast will fix you up good. I will have to share the camping story in a separate post but I remembered to shoot my straight up shot when lounging in a camp chair on the site. Branches at every angle.
After some rest, it was packing up time. You know, break everything down, clean up the trash and piss the fire out!
I didn't dally all day though. I have a huge week and needed to get that lawn mowed and some rainwater poured on the garden. The little dood was happy to see me home and made sure to patrol the perimeter looking for intruders.
He actually spotted one of those pesky snabbits in the side yard. We have these guys, nesting crows and brawling robins, as well as a pig groundhog in the yard behind us so the patrolling never ends.
10 cans of rainwater on all the growing stuff and I am about ready to hit a chair for the evening. Not before this big fat gnarly rose caught my eye. It is about the size of a tennis ball and I am wondering what is going on with the outside petals. Maybe got roasted by the sun or was too dry for a couple days? I will have to keep an eye on it to see how it turns out.
I am hoping for a little more more rain for the barrel sometime this week but it may be another hot dry one incoming.
HAPPY FATHERSDAY! Hope your Sunday was beautiful and sublime too.
