After a nice day of relaxation, I was summoned to perform a secret meeting and fetch a few groceries. I do like to kill many birds with one stone and was so inspired to discover some of the winter light exhibits being presented in our small town.
Market Square
The HOPE sign was installed at market square near city hall last year. A nice little message for the community in times of challenge. This holiday season, they added a neat exhibition apparently purchased after being used in another international city. I really should scratch up the details and tell the story properly for you.
Despite it being -16 Celsius on a school night in the middle of winter, there were plenty of people out for a Sunday stroll to observe the lights.
When you get closer, you realize you are actually a part of the exhibit not just but proximity. There is a little ambient humming going on and it changes tones when the sensors are triggered by walking through the arches.
Neat little trip and so nice to be a part of the art after nightfall when the colours are even more vibrant and otherworldly.
Art Gallery
Out at the local art gallery https://www.gallerystratford.on.ca/ they have teamed up with a local promotions company on this inflatable sculpture.
From the road, it definitely catches your eye but I have never stopped to investigate. Like some alien organism or maybe something out of Starcraft? Weird!
Upon closer inspection, it is gathering a little snow, and is sporting a few apparent scars where miscreants have attempted to kill this alien. I walked completely around it and cannot seem to find an entrance!
Eventually, I find a way in and end up wondering if I am supposed to be in there. Better snap a shot of what it looks like as it would be a shame to get arrested trying to get you a unique perspective and not deliver the goods. In the belly of the alien for #SublimeSunday
