Officially, Valentine's Day is tomorrow. Because I love #SublimeSunday so much, we unofficially switched it to today. How do you earn the most Wifepoints© while managing to sleep til noon? Take her to the fanciest place in town for brunch!
The main room is reserved for the Inner Chamber ticketed afternoon concert today as they set up the instruments and tune the piano. I love seeing a local restaurant rebound from a month of lockdown with a full night of burlesque show, solid brunch service, sold-out ticketed afternoon event, and then full dinner service headed into Valentine's Day.
Brunch service was in the upstairs in the stylish and secluded upstairs Belfry Bar. I have a whole restaurant review with menus and links and the whole deal in the chamber.
Looks like this Sunday is setting up to be food-heavy so I at least have to show you our appetiser. Truth is we ripped into it before I could take a pic. So, this baked brie with house made olive bread looked even better than it looked here. The taste? Stay tuned the next few days!
Dinner Time
After a nice afternoon nap, which is rare for a superbowl Sunday, it was time for family dinner. "What are panzerottis again?" she asked, "Pizza logs?"
Yes. Pizza logs from almost scratch tonight! We mark each one individually so that we know what in in which, and which is whose.
Mine turned out exceptionally well! I have the best of both worlds as share a home with vegetarians, and someone who doesn't eat much but meat. All the meat and veggies available in one pizza log. It was as delicious as you might expect but maybe not the best one.
Not sure how well you can see but the smiley face pizza log developed some bug eyes! Some of the oil from the pepperoni apparently absorbed into the dough when heated, made that dough heat up more than the air, and caused it to create the perfect little eyes.
One last surprise on a nice Sublime Valentine's Sunday spent with the family.
