Taking it easy this Sunday morning. A fearless chipmunk was quite comfortable with getting his picture taken on our morning walk.
I usually lead with my best photos even it doesn't work well with the story line lol and this photo is great 馃檪 this is a tiny grey tree frog. He is maybe one inch long. For scale check out the green bean behind him in the photo!
Back to easy Sunday morning, I usually start the day with coffee. This little coffee bar was in our house when we bought it (honestly probably a liquor bar but works nice for coffee). I'm drinking some french roast Pete's right now from a cheap Mr. Coffee. With the heavy mineral content in our well water, coffee makers don't last too long 馃檨 Even with an occasion cleaning cycle with vinegar and water.
Sometimes I have tea. I've been drinking a mix of green tea and hibiscus which supposedly have some health benefits. But I usually have it cold in the afternoon. And this started out as a post about Sunday morning...
So after or sometimes with coffee, I slip on some boots and head out to check on things. Boots are nice for many reasons, getting through the swamp, heavy dew, ticks, plus slip on easily 馃槈
I post often about the garden and flowers and fruit trees so I'll cut to the bad news of the day. Yellow jackets 馃槄 I've used old logs to build some of my beds and yellow jackets log them. I stood an watched a steady stream of yellow jackets enter and leave the space under this log. As long as you know where the nest is and don't disturb them they usually aren't a problem. There was a nest in this same place last year until a skunk dug it out one night. I need to look up that skunk and invite it back.
I brought in some flowers and put them in the kitchen which we don't do very often. Hope you had a good weekend.
