#WeekendExperiences (founded by
My week was nuts so that left me plenty to do on a special weekend.
Last Weekend
Last weekend, The early flowers had started to bloom. This one just grows every year so I never knew what kind it was til I looked just now. Apparently a double tulip?
This weekend, there was a little rain early on and they have closed up almost to fend off the water. A little more pink in them this week and the water droplets are divine.
Dog Wars
If there is one thing that I hope will make its way into every weekend adventure post, it is a trip to the park with this little guy. He doesn't care if it is rain or shine and has the time of his life seemingly every time. A little time enjoying the fresh air while he runs around with a happy look on his face sure is a nice part of a good weekend.
On the way back home, we slowed to check out a big group of hosers. Each pair seems to only have 3 or 4 but this is a group of 20. Fascinating how there are little Canada Goose daycares while parents are off probably foraging.
Sublime Mother's Day
Mother's Day weekend started off with som fireworks as the ion storm crashed into the atmosphere. We were either going to have electrical and communication grids shut down or maybe just some pretty colour in the sky. I am glad we had the latter and photos actually accentuated the hues in the sky.
Sunday turned out to be clear and mild (~17 Celcius?) and I decided to head downtown. A stop at the bike shop to pick up some new parts to buff moms bike back into riding shape was top on the agenda. My favourite bike shop is right downtown in the square so I took a stroll through the market to see who was selling what.
I really need to find the time to blog more on the business blog Town Crier Marketing about the small businesses in this town as we are blessed with a central core strongly dominated by unique, locally owned businesses. Craftspeople, trendy cafes and even the world's smallest movie theater The Little Prince Cinema
Might as well make a quick stop in to see Lisa at Daisies & Doilies which is a client of ours and proud #shoplocal champion. Neat store with so many cool little artistic gifts.
A little farther along my walk, I headed over to another client Revival House who is just starting the floral fireworks on their terrace. Huge weekend there with a private wedding and then Sunday Brunch for Mother's Day.
Inside, the cathedral was sold out and filled with happy mothers and those who appreciate them. Nothing like a fancy brunch buffet to bring families together and give moms a special dining experience in a special place.
Beer
I am going to save all my garden adventure for the #hivegarden post I have been working up to. Needless to say I deserved a beer after a long day in the garden. Life in the Clouds is among my top 10 beers and part of a mix 6 pack I have just showcased this week for #beersaturday here @zekepickleman/beersaturday-mix-6-ipa-pack
