A dream I have is to secure my family a cottage. Having a place out in the peaceful wilderness to call my own, for the family to grow up and have fun, and to escape to when the zombie apocalypse happens will be awesome.
Now don't get me wrong, I love camping. Truth is I would rarely camp when I get a cottage. Until I own one, I like to invite myself to those owned by the people I know.
Drinking in the view and the air from a seat on the dock is about as good as I can imagine life getting. Having the freedom and ability to travel and unplug and live is truly a gift.
This is a shot from many moons ago where 3 brothers pretend they are still in college and pay tribute to FUBAR (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FUBAR_(film) srsly if you haven't heard of this film, see it and hit me up in comments to tell me what you think :) It was a picture taken in the autumn that would make me smile and wonder about how lives and schedules stand between people.
We managed to recreate this shot in recent years. Same stupidity and same celebration of life in a juvenile tribute. Makes me think of the things we can do in order to spend as much time as we can enjoying life. It also reminds me that the good old days haven't even happened yet. This means I get to work to recreate this again and again.
With any luck, it will happen again this summer.
Should be pretty funny to see a collection of these. Almost as fun as it will be reliving it.
