Two years. We’d not seen each other in two years. A stream of emotions flooded back to me as she sipped herbal tea from across the café, her smile for someone else.

Two years since I broke her heart. Two years since I made the dumbest mistake of my life. Who is that she’s with anyway? I don’t recognise them. Is that… Greg?

I don’t care. I shouldn’t care. I have no right to. She left me because I took her for granted. If the tables were turned, I’d do the same.

Five years. Another five years since we’d seen each other. She has a kid now. Two in fact. A little curly haired boy and a baby girl. I should stop coming to this part of town – it feels cursed.

What do I have to show for myself? An Irn Bru and a fucking share bag of Maltesers. Greg – it was Greg that time before, wasn’t it? Great job, Greg. Don’t fuck it up.
