“Wakanda forever!” Timmy made the pose from his favourite film, Black Panther, before attempting a flip from the trampoline in his back garden.

“Mummy, where am I?” Timmy awoke to bright, fluorescent lights, and his Mum sat beside him holding his hand.

“You’re in the hospital my dear, sweet boy.” She hugged him vigorously; eliciting a wince from Timmy as he realised his right arm was in a hard cast.

“What happened? The last thing I remember was playing on the trampoline.”

“You fucked it and broke your fall with your arm, and then blacked out.” His older brother appeared on his right; his face smeared with a grin.

“Language, Reggie!” Their Mum’s exclamation was accompanied with a smack. Reggie let out a laugh as he rubbed his arm.

“Sorry, Mum.”

“Does this mean we’re not going on holiday today?” asked Timmy earnestly.

“That’s right, boy. Our flights were two hours ago.” His Dad placed his hand on his Mum’s shoulder. Timmy could feel his stern expression baring down on his guilty conscience.
