A winter visit to Midland Library

First order of business. A 'Canadian Slice' is traditionally topped with mushroom, pepperoni, and bacon. For $3.25 it's a steal!

This pizza joint is right across the street from Midland Library. Technically speaking, this pizza joint is my library.

I didn't even bother asking if I could go to the top part. I asked for the wifi password once and waited 20 minutes. Only one person in the building has the wifi password, and they're usually in the bathroom. This library is free; if you complain you are framed as a misguided person and given looks of bewilderment.

This is allegedly a public library, however you may be fooled by the bastion inspired stonewall defense. They also need to know exactly where you live and have a picture of your face on file in order to let you use the internet. If you cannot prove with government identification where you live, they suspect you are an outsider trying to siphon tax free knowledge.

The second story rooms are rumored to be safe spaces for heroin users.

This building was constructed in 1913 as a Federal Government building, serving as a Post Office, Customs Office, and Steamship Inspection Office, and Licensing facility. Source

I was able to obtain this knowledge for free with wifi at the pizza joint.

This library has almost no German books. They had one about a kid's pet bird, but it was too advanced for me. If you visit make sure you stay quiet, many town folk sleep inside in order to forget their troubles.
