FW Daily Prompt - Summer

There's going to be another summer break since the start of the school year, as usual, I didn't have any special plans like the rest of the kids in my class who already had their lives figured out. Some of them were traveling overseas, some planning to spend it with their relatives, some were already talking about the party they would be attending and series of occasions and events lined up for them. Just for a second I thought my life wasn't just quiet but boring and that there was nothing fun in it, only for me to be snapped out of that deadening thought by the echoes of my friend's voice calling out to me.

Claire! Claire!! Claire!!! like she always does, calling from a distance and hoping I would turn, but as usual I played deaf even when I heard her well, I've warned her a couple of times already to stop screaming my name from afar and always alerting others. Aside from leading a boring life, I was more of the shy person that didn't want any attention drawn to me but my friend Dora was quite the opposite and everytime I ask myself how we became friends.
Dora cling to me like a leech but she is still the best thing to have ever happened to me in school and I really do not take our friendship for granted although sometimes I'm stressed out with all her excesses.

Claire! What's your plans for the summer break, Dora asked. Well, you know, the usual, I responded without wasting a second. Come on sweetie, let's do something unusual this time? How about you over to my place and spend a few days? I'm sure your parents wouldn't mind, or should I come with you to seek their permission? No thank you, I quickly disrupted her the moment she mentioned seeing my parents. I didn't want to prolong the topic so I told Dora I would think about it while we hurried to catch the bus.
