But before that, permit me to tell you a short story which inspired this headband.
A lady reached out to me and sent this particular headband, though she said she would love it in red, and she need it in bunks for festive sales. Unfortunately we couldn't agree on a price so I didn't get the order. But I kept imagining the inspo she sent. I love the pattern used. It's a combination of ( single crochet and popcorn stitch). I'm not a lover of red. But I decided to go for red because, I mean, it's festive season.☺️♥️
And guess what it came out nice and lovely.♥️ And I love how it fits beautifully and perfectly. I was outside taking pictures of it.
And someone passing by saw it and admired it. And boom I finally got myself an order for 2 of my headbands. Yeah! Not just 1 but 2. You can't imagine how super excited 😆 I was. And that's why I said to myself, I must share this with my family.
So let's start with the tutorial and trust me it's beginner friendly and you will love the process.
Step by step guide
Materials needed
. 1 ball of yarn.
. A pear of scissors.
. Yarn needle.
. 3.5mm hook.
. And measuring tape.
NOTE: There are some crochet words you will come across dur
ing the tutorial which are: Chains (ch), single crochet (sc), turn over, popcorn stitch, stitches(sts), double crochet tong (dc tong), Increase (INC).
**STEP 1: **I made a slip knot.
STEP 2: I chain 14.
ROW 1: I single crochet in the second chain from the hook. Then, I continue to single crochet until the end (13 sc).
ROW 2: I chain 1, turn my work, then, I single crochet across the row (13 sc).
I repeat Row 2 until I have 13 single crochet.
ROW 14: I chain 1, turn my work, then, I place SC in the first 5 stitches. I place 2 SC (INC). Then in the next stitch, I place a popcorn stitch ( which is 4 double crochet tong).
. In the next stitch, I place 2 SC (INC). Then, I single crochet in the remaining 5 stitches.
ROW 15: I chain 1, turn my work and I single crochet all across (15 sts).
ROW 16: I chain 1, turn my work, then, I place single crochet in the first 5 stitches. In the 6th stitch, I place 2 sc (INC).
I place a popcorn st, I single crochet in the next stitch, then popcorn stitch in the next stitch. In the next stitch, I place 2sc (INC). Then I single crochet in the remaining 5 stitches.
ROW 17: I chain 1, turn my work and I single crochet all across (17 sts).
ROW 18: I repeat row 14 and 16 until I have 6 popcorn stitch.
3 POPCORN STITCH
4 POPCORN STITCH
5 POPCORN STITCH
ROW 26: I chain 1, turn my work, I place single crochet in the first 7 stitches (No INC).
Then, I place 6 popcorn stitches. I single crochet across the row.
ROW 27: I chain 1, turn my work, I place single crochet across
. I repeat row 26 and 27 until I have 13 inches ( length). I got 55 rows. But you don't have to worry if you have more rows or less. It all depends on your tension. If the inches is accurate you can continue.

AND THIS IS THE BACK
ROW 56: I chain 1, turn my work, and I place single crochet in the first 6 stitches. Then I place a tong single crochet (DEC). Then I place 5 popcorn stitch and I single crochet across. (In this row we will start making Popcorn stitch decrease).
ROW 57: I chain 1 and I single crochet across.
. I repeat Row 56 and 57. I continue to decrease my popcorn stitch until I have 1 left.
I chain 1, turn my work, then I single crochet across.
Then I single crochet until I have 13 Rows of single crochet.
. I turn my work in and I join both edge together and weave in my ends.
