Its hard to determine any one coin as the best coin of the year. For one person one coin in which he/she made abnormal profit can be the best while the same coin for some other person may not be the best as he/she could not get any significant benefit out of it. I may be wrong as Im not an expert on the matter but in my point of view following coin can be considered as they have the potential.
Bitcoin as it market share is about 40 % and all the crypto market tends to move with it.
Ethereum (ETH) has also potential as last year it has touched around 1400 and is now trading about 450
Litecoin (LTC) has touched 200 plus and now trading between 70 to 80
Steem has gone upto 8 and at the movement it as around 1.3. to 1.5. In addition of price hike steem can also be used in steemit platform to earn more even if its price doesn't increase.
