July 15th, 2020 is that date the world of Twitter and Crypto will never forget.
A lot of accounts were hacked including the one of Twitter support itself, biggest crypto exchanges like Binance, Coinbase, and world's prominent leaders like Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Elon Musk, Apple, Cash App, and many others.
For instance, Binance was seen sending out a message that it was donating 5,000 Bitcoins to Cryptoforhealth, a tweet that I personally retweeted; only to realize that it was deleted today.
Other big players affected in the crypto space include Gemini, Kucoin, Charlie Lee and Justin Sun who were also targeted.
Twitter support has also been seen sending out a tweet that it was donating Bitcoins, in doubles!
Later on, Twitter reacted to the saga and said it was taking corrective measures.
However, big harm has been caused and one of the hackers is believed to have reportedly collected around 13 Bitcoins; almost US$ 130,000!
A list of all the addresses is still not known but at least three have been communicated.
This shows how vulnerable we are over the Internet even though everything is traceable with Blockchain technology.
