A small lesson in calligraphy and font design

In the art of different peoples of the world there is a concept of calligraphy as the basis of handwriting fonts pen or brush. Recently I decided to use the example to tell my little students about this aspect of fine art.

I was not attached to any special styles, but mentioned the ancient Slavic letters, modern and handwritten decorative fonts. I did not expect how interesting it seemed to the children to know about calligraphy and how many different rules and subtleties exist in this art form.


I will not hide, many things were unexpected for children and not all of them turned out, but still their interest was genuine and at the end of classes the students bombarded me with questions.


I think it will take a little more time and I will continue to tell students about calligraphy. I have a lot of interesting things in store. I think next time my lesson will be even more interesting than the previous one.
