For as long as I can remember wearing long hair is synonymous with femininity and good taste; I always thought that the longer the better and I grew up watching all those princess movies where they had those long and spectacular perfect manes. 👸

As I grew up, matured and had the freedom to choose my own haircut and style I experimented with different looks; although I confess that I was always afraid of not looking good or looking unattractive and above all of what people would say; even so I was trying different haircuts always driven by what I liked the most, but the square cut I did not go beyond.

It was then in 2012 when mom was diagnosed with cancer, she started her chemotherapy treatment and her hair started to fall out; it was at that moment that she decided to shave her head and I wanted to do it too (but she didn't let me) that same day I told my hairdresser: let's try a new cut, a short one! That was my way of accompanying her in her process and until she didn't have hair I wouldn't let mine grow.

I took the risk and cut it, 🙈 is that wearing short hair here in my country is the opposite of femininity 🤭 or simply it is believed that wearing it like that is only for old people, grandmothers etc. I got rid of my hair and what others might believe about me, it was totally liberating; I felt better than ever, the change was total everyone had to do with it, I received a lot of positive criticism and others not so much but in the end I didn't care. I felt beautiful and imposing plus I've always been super flirty, I like to dress up, make up and especially wear red lips 💋.

I lasted many years wearing this style, my mom recovered and I was hooked with my cut, it made me unique, different from the others; this is a style that needs constant maintenance; I liked to look impeccable. But there came a time when I got tired and I said I want to change, I will let my hair grow, so I lasted many years with long hair again.

Now for my 34th birthday I went back to my short hair which I love madly, I feel that I look great, unique, feminine and even younger. In conclusion let's do what we like, let's not get carried away by what others say or think about you, take a risk, dare be happy with the style you want to wear and most importantly; be yourself 🌷 feel beautiful every day. 🌿
