Hoy veo el tiempo atrás y digo qué rápido pasa la vida, ahora nos toca enseñar a nuestra hija a manejar, mi hijo ya aprendió, ahora él toma el carro y puede hacer sus propias diligencias y algunas veces nos deja sin carro, ahora le toca a mi hija Aprender a manejar, no la veo tan entusiasmada como cuando yo quería aprender a manejar, pero si le está agarrando el gusto.

We started our lessons in the afternoon, which was a bad time to start learning to drive, since we should have done it in the morning, but because of her, we couldn’t. Once I started driving, we drove on Sunday mornings, when there were very few people around so the street was empty and we could learn to drive without any problems. We told her this, but she’s too lazy to get up early, even though she’s on vacation. Still, she didn’t do too badly.

The idea was for her to learn not to stall the car and to be able to pull away without any trouble. We drove the car around—we did about three laps—and she managed to learn how to turn the engine off and on and drive it for a while in first and second gears, at very low speeds and always staying close to the right side of the road to keep us and everyone else safe.
It’s a wonderful time to teach our children to do new things—especially when they’re older—and these are things that will help them in the future. Plus, they’re experiences they’ll never forget. Their father was there, and of course, I was there in the background, offering some tips on what he needed to learn so he could do it better and better each time. We’ll be continuing with the lessons very soon—these are the kinds of parenting moments that warm the heart.
