Brother Bear, a movie that delves into a world that might seem fantastic, but rather reflects what we were as humanity. A humanity that tried to live in a beautiful correlation with nature, a bit prehistoric, that speaks to us of our past and of how a little bit of that correlation and that mutual respect with our environment was what dictated the human being beforehand.

Thus we know Kenai, a native of Alaska who alongside his brothers is about to go through an initiation ritual, one that represents his adulthood and with this receives a totem, each one in the form of some animal that should mark his path, Kenai being the youngest of these and receiving the bear, one that represents love, while his brothers receive leadership or wisdom.

But after this rite, Kenai, who opposes his totem, finds himself embroiled in a hunt alongside his brothers, where one of them dies and with this death to more than a mother bear, the development of the movie takes place.

One in which Kenai avenges his older brother and for this is punished by the spirits that represented his own brother, being particularly those of the bald eagle and his punishment is none other than to transform into a bear.

Following this transformation, his brother, who had the symbol of the wolf's wisdom, understands that this new bear that has appeared took charge of murdering his brother Kenai and decides, like himself, to take revenge, giving us a sample like this of the consecutiveness of acts, the chains of hate that can be formed when revenge is taken as a banner and how correlated everything was in this world of spirits and in our real world.

Thus Kenai, after fleeing from his own brother who fails to understand him, in this new form finds himself wrapped in many adventures, but rather in trying to survive in this new form.

Thus he meets a little bear cub who helps him understand how this world of bears is managed and how he can find the safety of his own humanity and of the very hunter who pursues him, who is none other than Kenai's brother.

Thus the movie explores this world not only as fantastic, but a world full of conflicts, a world full of nature and a prehistoric fauna that fascinates us at every step.

Among these crossovers, we find out about the identity of the cub accompanying Kenai, who is none other than the offspring of the mother bear that he murdered at the beginning, thus closing a circle that could perpetuate itself or rather symbolizes the consecutiveness of acts, establishing a kind of circle that the movie tries to break with the bond of brotherhood established between this cub and Kenai himself.

Thus we see how their relationship grows while they flee from this imminent danger that always seems to breathe down their necks, trying to learn their life as a bear, but ultimately reaching a safe place.

One that is very close to some mountains where the spirits are said to dwell and where Kenai tries to regain his human form, but in a twist of destiny Kenai finds himself wrapped in a situation that confronts his two brothers, the little bear brother and his brother who was pursuing them, thus having to choose whether to go towards this place where the spirits could return his form or save his little brother, and he deciding to recover a brother, not perpetuate this chain.

And thus after a fierce confrontation between the hunter brother and the bear brother, the spirits intercede and return his form to Kenai, one with which his brother realizes his mistake and steps back, but for which the movie reserves a breath that I will not reveal for this last part.

One that lets us know fully how this spiritual world works, this interconnection that humanity perhaps with time was losing with nature itself, but that the movie dares to narrate to us not in an evident way nor throwing it in our faces, but from a spirituality that does not have to be objective, but at a symbolic level works in an incredible way to speak to us of what we are, of what we were and what we could recover if we simply accepted that part of us that like a totem at the beginning we rejected.

Rating: 85/100
