"I am selfish and entitled." 馃槍
Hello community:
Difficult forced foot has put us on this occasion by our administrator. 馃槀 Let's see how this goes...
Selfish is said of a person who puts his own interests above all others. Seen this way globally as a general behavior, it is a detestable attitude towards society. Society advocates the opposite, since we are social beings.
However, it has been demonstrated that in the struggle for survival, even the most supportive and helpful people can show selfish shades of selfishness. We are by nature selfish beings since our own creation, evolution and development.
Man has modified nature (and continues to do so) for his own benefit. Many of these transformations have damaged the different ecosystems of our planet and despite the fact that today there are many projects for their healing, we have worked selfishly affecting and endangering our habitat in the not too distant future. There are many examples: industries that pollute the air, soil and water; the diversion of riverbeds; large deforestations; etc.
In the same way we sometimes behave with our fellow men and our families: How many times have our parents suffered because of actions we have done without their consent when we were still children and teenagers? We have acted without measuring consequences on one or another occasion in life, only thinking of our own benefit. We are carnivorous animals and although some people have adopted the vegetarian and vegan habit, we cannot deny our ancestry. We need meat and animal fat to subsist, this also makes us selfish, as both plants and animals are living beings.
That said, I don't consider myself a selfish person to the fullest extent, but I do have selfish episodes and I think that is perfectly human.
This weekend, for example, I decided to take a well-deserved break (I think, hahaha). I said to myself: this Saturday and Sunday are for me, for self-indulgence and not to do the usual. The duties for my family are a priority in my life, but from time to time you have to take a break and think about yourself, because the quality of life determines the mental and physical health of the person.
This weekend there was no room for washing, cleaning, putting away clean clothes, or organizing laundry.... None of this was part of my chores. Only the essential things like attention to food was what I did.
This weekend was a time for doing nails, washing and ironing hair, a lot of couch listening to music and bed watching TV. Of course I could not miss my long moments in Hive, this is included and is already an inseparable part of me.
Another very important moment is the one I spent rejoicing with my family, because with all the authority that I have granted myself, I ordered:
"Everybody up on the bed!"
This imperative phrase I use from time to time. I want a family hug without delays or pretexts and I want it now! ... And there we all go to give each other kisses and squeeze each other. It is a moment that I enjoy very much and this weekend I tried to make it more extensive. I was very selfish and didn't let my son go outside to play. Instead I kept him very close to me for the sheer pleasure of feeling that part of me being closer to me. It is true that he is just a child, but he has feelings and rights that we must respect. There was no excuse for me not to let him play, only my personal desire to enjoy his kisses and hugs. I am not proud of my manipulation, for this reason after a few kisses I let him go out to play with his friends. Children grow up and have their own needs, we must know how to respect this.
Well, after writing all the above I don't think anyone has the right to be selfish, especially if on top of this more people are affected, much more loved ones.
I hope you had a good weekend.
Thank you for your reading time.
