It had been a while since I'd had a date with myself. Sometimes it's really necessary to disconnect and listen to your thoughts. This time I walked through the streets of Old Havana. I really enjoy strolling along Obispo Street, which, despite the passage of time and the city's decline, still retains a bit of that Cuban vibe. It's quite common to occasionally hear a musical group playing traditional Cuban songs to attract the attention of passing tourists and to admire the souvenirs and other items that are part of our identity. And of course, you'll always find a street vendor loudly announcing peanuts or candied coconut.
The aroma of the typical roast pork sandwiches that filled the streets took me back to my childhood, when that was our Sunday afternoon snack. So many memories of my little Havana. As if that weren't enough, you can still see horse-drawn carriages offering tours of the city so that visitors from other countries can enjoy their time in Cuba. Baseball is no longer the main topic of conversation in the iconic Central Park, but it still retains its beauty and tranquility, perfect for lingering on its benches. The Hotel Inglaterra continues to be a popular destination, as does El Floridita restaurant, a place frequented by Ernest Hemingway.
On my way back, I walked along San Rafael Boulevard. I've always loved this place since I was little. My mother always took me there to eat after the children's show at the Teatro América. And although many establishments are now closed, either due to disuse or collapse, it will always be a place where Havana residents sit and enjoy a beer and spend time with family and friends. To finish, I sat on the seawall to watch the ebb and flow of the waves, which truly brings me peace. As I always say: For every ill, the sea; and for every good, the sea too.
And that was my little stroll to relax and spend some time alone with myself. I hope that, like me, you can occasionally take some time to organize your thoughts and emotions.
Have a wonderful day, Gisselle

Cuántos recuerdos me trae mi pequeña Habana.
