| Hi friends! I haven't posted anything in this community in a while. That's because I haven't come across any interesting new insect species to report on. However, last week my wife and I were on vacation in the Carpathians and we climbed the Khomyakiv polonyna. It was there, at the foot of Mount Sinyak, that I met this handsome beetle, or rather handsome ones, because I counted six or seven individuals there. One of them scared my wife at first because he flew and sat on her clothes. She had reason to be afraid, because the small spruce barbel (Monochamus sutor Linnaeus), despite its name, is a large beetle - its body is almost three centimeters long and its whiskers are very long. | Привіт, друзі! Давненько я не публікував нічого у цій спільноті. Це все тому, що мені не траплялося жодних нових цікавих видів комах, про які я міг би розповісти. Проте минулого тижня я з дружиною відпочивав у Карпатах і ми здійснили підйом на полонину Хомяків. Саме там, біля підніжжя гори Синяк я зустрів цього красеня-жука, точніше красенів, бо я нарахував там шість чи сім особин. Один з них спочатку налякав мою дружину, бо прилетів і сів їй на одяг. Вона мали підстави налякатися, бо вусач ялиновий малий (Monochamus sutor Linnaeus), не зважаючи на свою назву, є великим жуком - тіло розміром у майже три сантиметри і ще дуже довгі вуса. |
