| Hi friends! I'm excited to be back in one of my favorite communities here at the Hive - the black and white photography community. Previously (as if in another life) I liked to process my photos in black and white format and look for a new life for them. It was really exciting, because not all photos that look great in color will look just as great in black and white. And it can be quite the opposite, when the photo is not attractive at all, when it is in color, and in black and white format (sometimes after complex manipulations with contrast, light and shadow) acquires a new meaning, a new interpretation. I haven't had time to take any new photos since I got home from the hospital, so I'll use some of my old photos, hoping I haven't edited them yet. It is difficult to remember after such a difficult year in Ukraine, when there is a war going on here. But it makes it possible, at least for a moment, to distract from all the pain and horror that the Russian invasion brings with it. | Привіт, друзі! Я радий повернутися в одну з моїх найулюбленіших спільнот тут, у Hive - у спільноту чорно-білої фотографії. Раніше (це неначе було в іншому житті) я полюбляв обробляти свої фото у чорно-білому форматі і шукати для них нове життя. Це було справді захопливо, адже не всі фото, які є прекрасними у кольорі, будуть так само чудово виглядати також у чорно-білому. А може бути зовсім навпаки, коли фото зовсім не приваблює, коли воно кольорове, а в чорно-білому форматі (іноді після складних маніпуляцій з контрастом, світлом та тінню) набуває нового сенсу, нового тлумачення. Я ще не встиг зробити нових фото, коли повернувся додому з лікарні, тому я використаю деякі зі своїх старих фото, сподіваючись, що я ще їх не обробляв. Це складно пригадати після такого важкого року в Україні, коли тут іде війна. Але це дає змогу хоч на мить відволіктися від усього болю та жаху, які несе з собою російське вторгнення. |
