English version

For lunch today, I made ground beef on a bed of mashed potatoes—a delicious and very nutritious alternative that I loved for my midday meal. Sometimes I like to substitute rice or spaghetti, and I think potatoes are an excellent alternative. Here’s how I made this recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 400 grams of ground beef
  • 12 sweet peppers
  • 5 potatoes
  • 2 onions
  • 1 tomato
  • 2 tablespoons of tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • 2 tablespoons of powdered milk
  • A pinch of salt
  • Oil

Preparation:

I washed the herbs, removed the seeds from the chili peppers and the tomato, and then chopped them into small pieces. Next, I peeled the onions and chopped them in the same way.

I placed the vegetables in a skillet to sauté and added the ground beef, mixing thoroughly to blend the flavors.

While the meat was sautéing, I peeled the potatoes and cut them into quarters. I put them in a pot with two cups of water to boil, adding half a tablespoon of salt. They were tender in twenty minutes.

Next, I added the tomato sauce to the ground beef along with a tablespoon of salt. I turned the heat down to low, put the lid on, and the meat was cooked in fifteen minutes.

Once the potatoes had cooled, I mashed them, adding a tablespoon of butter and two tablespoons of powdered milk. It turned out creamy, just the way I like it.

The last step was to plate it: I put the mashed potatoes on the bottom, forming a sort of bed, and the ground beef on top. You can also mix them together and add a little grated cheese. That option looks tempting.
